About Ethan

​Ethan Graves is a performer, educator, and composer from Edmonton, Alberta. His musical DNA is rooted in the worlds of Jazz and Western Classical music, with his soundscape being formed from the music of Hal Crook, Bob McChesney and Leonard Bernstein. Over Ethan’s two decades of performing, he has acted as lead trombonist for Rumba Caliente (Edmonton’s Latin Beat) since 2023, performing concerts at various Rec Room locations around Alberta and has had the pleasure playing for various Venezuelan, Columbian, and Mexican cultural events. Even ushering in the 2024 New Year at Edmonton’s Yardbird Suite to a sold-out crowd. Though in addition to his experience with Latin music, Ethan has had the joy of performing with Traditional/Folk artist Brianna Lizotte as trombonist and percussionist. Playing venues like Edmonton’s Deep Freeze Festival, Edmonton’s Lunch in the Square initiative, and at Fort Edmonton Park for a wedding reception and ceremony. Though local endeavours isn’t all Ethan has occupied himself with. He has been able to perform abroad with the Edmonton Winds Orchestra for their 2022 Europe Tour. Performing with featured artist PJ Perry in venues across Germany and the Czech Republic.
